Very well done.

Not quite my style of music but you guys play well together and the song flows easily.

Only thing I don't like is the delay you're using on the singers voice, I find it distracting, a softer reverb would've been more suiting I think, well, for me personally anyways.

Overall it's well done! The mix is well done and everything sits nicely which is a hard feat for most bands, so keep it up!

MathcoreMathcore responds:

We'll bear that in mind, thanks.

Badass

This song is badass, just has a really cool, grooving beat. Love it. The mix is always very well done for a live setup.

Great work man!

Thanks a lot, Rottenbeard ...lol...funny name, man...hahahaha
Yea, that sound guy had been at the club for years and years and he had that venue and mixes down pat. It used to be a very cool place for local original acts to play. Then, about a year or two ago, they sold to somebody that named it "The Funk Box"....sorta gross sounding haha...why not just call it "Club Smegma" or something.. ew...That sucked cause it was a dance club and of course, no more un heard of acts. Last I heard, it wasn't doing real well....good. The 8x10 made it for like 15 years like they were...shouldn't try and fix somethin that aint broke. Word.

Actually quite good..

This is actually quite good. Had you used real instruments instead of synth it'd probably be quite popular as an actual rock song.

Your drums have an awesome punchy sound that I really like although they're not terribly realistic sounding.

Overall, this is impressive for a purely sample based song. Well done.

Zajed responds:

i wish i had something to record real instruments lol, i guess it needs something for the backround to add the ''special'' feeling, well i didnt used the best vsts for this one and it actually way my first attempt to make something rockish, thanks alot for the revieww i appreciate it

Interesting mix

This wasn't bad at all. It's obvious you were very much in a mood to experiment. The variation in style, playing and rythm kept the entire piece interesting to the end.

My only gripe is that your drum tracking in the background is physically impossible if it were to be played by a real drummer. Obviously it's done electronically so it's not a big deal, but if you're going for the illusion of a real drummer it doesn't work ;), either way the drumming fit the song so it's no big deal.

You riff near 3/4 mark reminds me of that one song by puddle of mud that I can't remember the name of now.

Anyways, good work!

BinaryGuy responds:

Well the way i see it someone would be on the drum kit and a different person entirely would have to play the high hat.
Maybe when that person playing the Bass in the beginning can switch over to high hat for the rest of the song. lol

Fantastic..

It's a shame this hasn't been rated higher. I understand though, this type of progressive ambient/rock music isn't very popular for some reason which is a shame.
However, everything on this track is done extremely well, the multi-layering of synth creates a massive wall of sound that is fantastic which eventually builds up to a brilliant climax.

Mixing and mastering is also done very well, my only comment is that in a few areas you seem to have too much going on in the middle frequency range which seems to drown out the guitar work at some points. Remember that there is only so much you can cram into the same frequency before things start to sound muddy :).

However, this song gets the highest score i've ever given on any song to date on newgrounds. 10/10 man, keep up the good work.

MaXounet responds:

I'm glad i'm the "10 you ever gave" ;)

Thanks for the neat review. I still have to work on the frequencies in many of my songs indeed. That's something i really need to improve, to get some more cooler dynamics. Thanks again Rottenbeard.

Excellent.

This is very well done. Great mixing, great use of melody, and excellent drumming.

Addictive is great isn't it? I have yet to hear a more convincing and natural sounding drum VST. Just curious how the pattern was done up for this song, did you sequence the notes manually or was this played via a kit? Either way it's extremely well done! Good job!

Sonofkirk responds:

Yeah, I sequenced the notes manually because I don't have an electonic drum kit.
Addictive Drums is the shit !

Anyway, thanls for the awesome review dude !

Excellent!

The emotion is quite clearly evident in this solo piece. Well played and well portrayed.

Only thing I notice is that near the end it sounds as if you were running out of ideas as it falls apart somewhat, but otherwise this gets a 9 from me. Keep it up man!

TheCrazyPianist responds:

Ahahaha, at least somebody noticed it. Yeah around 3:04 I really was just trying to end it, I'd make a better one but then that would ruin the whole "raw emotion" aspect of it.

Well done.

Excellent! Love the guitar tone you got going here. It's got a sweet scooped sound.

Keep it up!

rocker206 responds:

Thanks man! I'll be sure to keep it up ;)

Have you learned the lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you? Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed passage with you?
